Volunteering Opportunity

Médecins du Monde – France (MdM) is an international non-governmental humanitarian organization, concerned with providing relief to people most in need of help and those at risk from wars, natural disasters, disease, poverty and famine.

In Lebanon, MdM seeks to increase access to primary health care and mental health services for all by strengthening the national primary health care network and establishing community mental health centers.

MdM provides assistance to all residents of Lebanon without discrimination between genders, ages and nationalities.

MdM is currently looking for community outreach Volunteers to participate in its projects in Akkar/Halba region with the aim of spreading awareness about health and mental health by conducting awareness sessions and community activities for the local communities surrounding the centers supported by MdM.

Selection criteria:

• To have great communication and facilitation skills
• To be older than 18 years-old
• To be legally residing in Lebanon (identification documents should be available)
• To be residing in the same community where the project is being implemented
• To not be married to a minor (below 18 years old)
• To have completed at least secondary education (High-school diploma or equivalent technical education)
• To be able to work flexible hours and on weekends to reach different groups in the community
• Languages: excellent knowledge of Arabic (reading, speaking, and writing), basic knowledge of English preferred
• To possess and know how to use a smartphone
• Preferably to have previous training and work experience related to health
• To have the ability to travel within the area of intervention and to support as well on an ad-hoc basis outside of the area of intervention
