Established in 2023, the SSE Task Force was created to advance social entrepreneurship in Lebanon amid ongoing social, economic, and environmental challenges. This collaborative initiative unites key stakeholders to address the challenges faced by social enterprises and strengthen the SSE ecosystem. The task force was initially supported by the SEE CHANGE project, previously funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium including Oxfam, COSV, and Beyond Group.
The Lebanese Social Enterprises Association (LSE) is committed to strengthening the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Lebanon by supporting social enterprises and advocating for a more enabling ecosystem. LSE aims to provide the necessary support to ensure the continuity and effectiveness of the SSE Task Force.
The SSE Task Force works on implementing the SSE Ecosystem Advocacy & Action Plan (EAAP), which focuses on:
- Establishing a national network of social enterprises
- Engaging in policy advocacy efforts with government and private stakeholders
- Strengthening the SSE ecosystem through collaborative initiatives
The Task Force operates through four committees—Program, Legal, Fundraising, and Communication—to drive key initiatives and deliverables.
About the Role
LSE is seeking a Research & Data Analyst to support the SSE Task Force by collecting and analyzing data, conducting research, and generating reports that inform decision-making, policy advocacy, and ecosystem development efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about social entrepreneurship and policy research.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Analysis
- Gather, clean, and analyze data related to social enterprises and the SSE ecosystem in Lebanon
- Track and interpret key trends, challenges, and opportunities for social enterprises
- Develop quantitative and qualitative insights to support advocacy and strategic initiatives
- Research & Reporting
- Conduct research on global best practices in SSE policy, funding mechanisms, and ecosystem support
- Prepare research briefs, reports, and policy papers for stakeholders and decision-makers
- Develop visual data presentations, infographics, and dashboards to communicate findings
- Stakeholder Engagement & Data Gathering
- Design and implement surveys, interviews, and focus groups with social enterprises and key stakeholders
- Compile case studies and success stories of social enterprises in Lebanon
- Support policy discussions with evidence-based insights and research
- Strategic Support
- Provide analytical support to the SSE Task Force committees (Program, Legal, Fundraising, Communication)
- Assist in the development of advocacy materials based on research findings
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing and capacity-building efforts within LSE and the Task Force
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Business, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in research, data analysis, policy analysis, or impact assessment
- Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Experience using data analysis tools
- Knowledge of Lebanon’s social enterprise ecosystem and policy landscape is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
