Position: Business Development Officer
Location: Beirut Office
Reports to: Senior Business Development Officer
Position Summary:
The Business Development Officer plays a key role in securing funding opportunities that drive Anera’s mission forward. This position focuses on identifying potential donors, supporting proposal development, and maintaining strong relationships with funding partners. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively collaborate with internal teams to develop high-quality proposals and reports while ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Funding Opportunity Identification & Donor Engagement
- Monitor and track funding opportunities from institutional donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Assist in cultivating relationships with donors through regular engagement, updates, and strategic communication.
- Support donor mapping and research to identify new funding prospects.
2. Proposal Development & Grant Writing
- Assist in drafting and preparing concept notes and proposals, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and Anera’s strategic priorities.
- Work closely with program and finance teams to gather necessary information for proposal development.
- Ensure all proposals meet donor compliance standards and submission deadlines.
3. Research & Data Analysis
- Conduct research to support project design, including needs assessments, stakeholder mapping, and background analysis.
- Compile relevant data and case studies to strengthen funding applications.
4. Reporting & Compliance
- Support the development of donor reports, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
- Monitor and track compliance with donor agreements, flagging any issues that require attention.
5. Internal Coordination & Process Support
- Assist in maintaining an organized pipeline of funding opportunities, applications, and reporting deadlines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs for proposals and reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation and databases related to funding applications and donor interactions.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or grant writing within the NGO sector.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
