Project Overview
This intervention addresses the critical needs arising from Lebanon's ongoing emergency situation.
The WASH component will focus on repairing essential plumbing and sanitation systems, resolving stormwater drainage issues, and ensuring access to water tanks where necessary. Additionally, priority will be given to upgrading toilets, shower facilities, and kitchen areas, with special attention to gender-specific requirements and hygiene needs.
as for the shelter, CISP will carry out necessary repairs to windows, doors, and electrical systems to improve natural light and ventilation. Where space permits, partitions will be installed to enhance privacy. The project will also prioritize accessibility improvements for people with disabilities, including the installation of ramps and the modification of bathrooms.
An Engineer will oversee the operational implementation of all Shelter and WASH activities within the project.
Duties & Responsibilities
He/she works in team, and acts under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and the Senior Engineer. His main responsibilities include the following:
- Planning and monitoring all concerned activities in coordination with the technical team and the Project Coordinator;
- Need Assessments using Standardized tools that include both technical and socio-economic fields in close coordination with the Field Officers and the Senior Engineer;
- Elaboration of Bill of Quantities and technical drawings respecting the given standards;
- Monitoring and supervision of the implementation of the works, including verification of specifications of the material used for works;
- Checking of all the materials that have to be delivered and utilized for the implementation of the works before their installation, in order to ensure the follow up of the technical specifications of the works provided by CISP;
- Elaboration of work progress reports and snag lists to be submitted to the Contractor upon completion of works, along with provisional acceptance;
- Monitoring the execution of the works included in the snag list, producing all the necessary evidences to allow issuance or final acceptance;
- Participating in elaboration of Tender documents, offers requests and any other documents related to the execution of works and/or supplies foreseen by the project;
- Participating in Technical/financial Evaluation of the offers received in a procurement procedure, in accordance with the award criteria listed in the solicitation documents;
- Collecting and forwarding any other information requested by CISP Management, especially data and information needed for Monitoring and for Reports;
- Drafting and submitting progress reports on regular basis and when requested to the Project Coordinator, in collaboration with the field officer;
- Support in any other duty or activity, when deemed necessary, assigned by the Project Coordinator/Country Director.
- He/she will represent CISP at coordination meetings, if deemed necessary.

- Ensure that activities are in line with relevant standards, codes of conduct and humanitarian principles.
- Respect confidentiality.
- Respect and promote CISP's Policies and report any non-respect of CISP's policies amongst the teams or partner agencies.
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or to others.
- Comply with child protection and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) policies.
- Always act in line with relevant standards, codes of conduct, and humanitarian principles, to prevent abuse, exploitation, fraud, and corruption.
Qualifications Required
- Education: bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or architect.
- Experience: 0-2 years working with NGOs. Experience in the field of general maintenance is an asset.
- Language: A minimum of an advanced level (C1) of English as well as native level (C2) of Arabic (oral, written and spoken).
- Other: a valid driver’s license and the flexibility to commute to Tripoli on a weekly basis.
