full time Social worker for Beqaa Area
Description:
The Social Worker will serve as a liaison between HCS, its beneficiaries, and participating medical centers to ensure effective and efficient implementation of a program supporting elderly Palestinians in need of surgery or hospitalization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform outreach within local communities, PHCs, hospitals, and other stakeholders to inform them of the project
- Act as the primary point of contact for beneficiaries in need of financial assistance for surgery or hospitalization
- Respond to all inquiries about the program from community members or other stakeholders
- Assess all applicants for program eligibility
- Assist those who meet the primary eligibility assessment in completing applications for support
- Submit all completed applications with supporting documents to the review committee in a timely manner
- Follow up with review committee on status of submitted applications
- Serve as a liaison between HCS, hospitals/medical centers, and beneficiaries
- Communicate with beneficiaries and hospitals regarding support pledged by HCS
- Follow up with beneficiaries to ensure medical/surgical services were rendered as planned
- Travel to participating hospitals and medical centers to collect required financial documents/receipts/hospital bills
- Complete home or hospital visits as needed to collect supporting documents and beneficiaries’ stories and photos
- Take before and after photos of beneficiaries to document improvement in their health after intervention
- Compose beneficiaries’ success stories documenting their health journey and submit to HCS with before and after photos
- Maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information related to services and storing beneficiaries’ data

Education Degree and Experience:
- Secondary degree or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, or a related field
- 2-3 years field experience in a similar role, preferably within a humanitarian or NGO setting, or medical setting
- Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
Working hours: 5 days per week (Monday through Friday) from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
Location: Wavel (Beqaa/Baalbak)
