The PSU Volunteer will be responsible for supporting the medical team during each PHC Satellite Unit (PSU) visit with crowd control, and overall management of the field visit. The PSU volunteer will also provide health, ECD, nutrition awareness and education sessions to the beneficiaries and conduct referrals as necessary.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Support the PSU medical team during each PSU with the crowd control to facilitate workflow and overall management during PSU field visits.
Disseminate key messages and conduct awareness sessions on Health, ECD and Nutrition to beneficiaries at the community level during PSU visits.
Distribution of micronutrients to children under 5 and PLW within the community.
Inform community members about the PSU’s services and connect them to the PSU.
Conduct community screening for acute malnutrition and refer suspected malnutrition cases to the screening and treatment centers.
Perform ECD screenings and refer beneficiaries to specialized care if needed.
Assist in collecting and organizing data related to outreach activities and health screenings for reporting and analysis.
Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for community members seeking health information and services.
Maintain accurate records, ensure proper data entry and submit reports to the PSU medical nurse as requested.
Help ensure the PSU is clean, organized, stocked and ready for daily operations.
Attend capacity building sessions as needed.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Fluency in reading/writing/speaking Arabic is necessary.
Good public speaking and communication skills.
Strong social, interpersonal, and intercultural skills.
Team player.
Able to meet deadlines.
Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Working Conditions
Will entail substantial traveling and visits to locations where beneficiaries are living (at the community level) and PSU services are provided.
It is preferable that candidate resides in Marjeyoun area.
