The Livelihood Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of the Digital Training project and to ensure that all activities are executed effectively, on time, and within budget. The Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate between stakeholders, managing the project resources, and reporting on progress, under the supervision of the Livelihood Program Coordinator.

Project Background: 

Amel, in collaboration with Life-France, is launching an extension of 2023 successful project aimed at enhancing the employability skills of approximately 100 youths in the Beirut Mount Lebanon area. This initiative seeks to improve job opportunities for participants by providing comprehensive digital training in two key areas: digital marketing and content creation. Additionally, participants of this year, will receive essential employability and life skills training to further prepare them for the market.

 

Professional trainers will use the same curriculum of last year with some adjustment according to the profile and needs of this year participants, ensuring alignment with both the interests of the participants and current job market demands. The project will be conducted again this year in Hay el sellom community development center of Amel. Targeting a diverse group of young women and men aged between 18 and 35 from various backgrounds and nationalities.

Over a seven-month period, each participant will engage in a minimum of 200 hours of internship experience and submit a final short narrative report to successfully complete the program and earn a certificate from Amel (attendance certificate). This project not only aims to enhance technical skills, but also to foster a sense of empowerment and improved well-being among participants, facilitating their smoother transition into the labor market.

Responsiilities, Tasks and Duties: 

 

  • Project Planning: The Coordinator will develop and execute detailed project plans, including timelines and work plan;
  • He/she will coordinate with project staff, beneficiaries, and external partners to ensure smooth project operations and adherence to objectives;
  • He/she will track the project performance against targets, prepare regular progress reports, and conduct evaluations to assess impact and effectiveness, in coordination with the MEAL Officer;
  • He/she will facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including organizing meetings and disseminating updates;
  • He/she should oversee the project resources, including managing the budget, procurement, and logistics to ensure efficient use of funds;
  • He/she should identify and address challenges or issues that arise during project implementation to keep the project on track;
  • He/she should report directly to the program coordinator and will be responsible for supervising project staff and coordinating with direct partners.

  • Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 
  • Bachelor degree in project management, social sciences, or related field;
  • MS office proficiency;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in management tools;
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities and population is a plus;
  • Good Reporting skills in both English and Arabic;
  • Desirable two years of relevant experience, previous experience in an NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage, preferably in Livelihood;
  • Fluency in Arabic and English;
  • To believe in concepts of equity, human rights, neutrality and impartiality;
  • Commitment to Amel Association’s values and UNHCR’s values and Code of Conduct;
  • Respect people privacy and ensure confidentiality of the information shares.
