- This announcement is preferably for the persons who are from Rashidye camp.
- Short-listed candidates will be set for a Technical test and those passes will be set for an interview.
- Priority will be given to those candidates who demonstrate experience in social work inside Palestinian camps.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess communities to be engaged in the PSS activities.
- Identify and Receive children and parents from the Learning support centers, schools NGOs and other stakeholders.
- Plan monthly and daily activities and share the work progress periodically.
- Prepare and conduct PSS activities (individual, groups) in line with global and national inter-agency SOPs/standards such as emotional support groups, facilitate focus group discussions and develop both of the knowledge and skills of children, as well as children out of school or at risk of dropout.
- Prepare session materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
- Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
- Provide children with special needs with the needed support.
- Supervise and treat children with dignity and respect.
- Create a safe space where participants can voice their opinions, thoughts, and emotions, share experiences, and brainstorm solutions confidentially and respectfully.
- Actively refer cases when necessary from community-based protection activities to focused PSS, education, or other services.
- Maintain positive relations with the center team local implementing actors, local authorities, and other international and local stakeholders;
- Maintain regular contact with teachers, center supervisors, animators, and area focal points.
Ensure an inclusive approach within implementation:
- In coordination with the Inclusion Education Technical Team, identify the children with difficulties/disabilities (CWD) in need of referrals to specialized services.
- In coordination with the Inclusion Assistant, follow up on the referral of CWD to specialized services.
- Coordinate with the CBOs, dispensaries, and therapists to set appointments to CWD for the provision of specialized services.
- Follow up on a daily/regular basis with caregivers to ensure their cooperation in the provided services for their children.
- Ensures the correct reporting on the BTF system on the specialized services, referrals, and therapy attendance.
- Follow up on the attendance of therapy interventions with the CBOs, and dispensaries in coordination with the Inclusion Assistant.
Ensure children’s safety and Protection
- Identify cases in need of referral to specialized services.
- Identify and refer children in need of tailored support to the appropriate institutions/service providers (health services, other NFE program, FPSS services…)
- Ensure that the provided materials are properly used, kept and cleaned;
- Ensure that all children and adolescents in PSS activities are referred to education or other services.
Tracking, and reporting on activities
- Ensure the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during PSS (attendance sheets, parental consent, referrals etc.)
- Develop a monthly operational progress.
Logistics responsibilities
- Support the logistics and procurement processes needed for the implementation of PSS.
- Report the items needing repair or replacement.
- Coordinate the purchase of the session’s materials.
Other duties as required
- Attend and participate in capacity-building trainings.
- Attend and participate in organization events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager
Personal Skills:
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility.
- Preference to candidates with field experience inside the camp he is assigned to work in.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and proactive negotiation skills.
- Skilled at working with local communities and authorities
- Understanding of policies concerning Child Protection.
- Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency contexts (MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.).
- Familiar with core principles of Children's Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, INFE minimum standards, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.
- Excellent team player.
- Able to work under stress.
- Enthusiastic and looks for continuous self-development.
- Planning and organizing skills.
Education Degree Details:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Sciences.
- Experience from 3 to 5 years.
- English Language should be very good.
