Education Technology Consultant 6 months project

Scope of work               

1. Support the validation and implementation of School Connectivity including:

1. Validation of Documents:
   1. Validate network diagrams to ensure they accurately represent the infrastructure.
   2. Validate proposed equipment based on the intended design, especially PoE budgets.
   3. Check and confirm the accuracy of the Bill of Quantities (BoQ).
   4. Review heatmaps to ensure they correctly display the intended data.
   5. Validate and label accepted assessments based on field visit observations.

1. Data Integrity Check:
   1. Review and verify the submitted reports on the current network status and the accuracy of data entered about schools.
   2. Identify and coordinate with service providers to address any discrepancies or errors in the deliverables

1. Prepare costing for each school based on BOQ, prices and LAN architecture provided by UNICEF.

1. Support review of school priority lists as needed.

1. Conduct Field Visits/ site inspections:
   1. Conduct at least 20% of random visits to selected schools to monitor the network installation process to ensure its alignment with the designs and plans.
   2. Validate the information recorded against actual conditions on the ground.
   3. Document findings and report any inconsistencies or issues.

1. Procurement and Distribution of Digital Equipment

1. Follow-up on Procurement and Delivery:

1. Support development of digital equipment distribution plan
2. Follow up on procurement and distribution of IT equipment and ICT kit to schools with UNICEF Supplies and support on follow-up with the MEHE as needed.
3. Ensure all the equipment are received by schools according to distribution Plan

2. Delivery and Operation:

1. Coordinate with Schools focal point for the receiving of equipment.
2. Follow up with the installation company of equipment and testing of the ICT kit once installed.
3. Support the development of a devices management and security strategy in coordination with the Education Specialist and the Digital Learning Consultant.

3. Conduct Field Visits/ site inspections:

1. Conduct at least 20% of random visits to selected schools and assessed sites to verify all equipment is delivered according to distribution plan and BoQs
2. Validate the information recorded against actual conditions on the ground.
3. Document findings and report any inconsistencies or issues.

1. Support the implementation of Digital Learning across Public Schools

1. Support development/ enhancement and deployment of learning platform
2. Support coordination with schools’ IT personnel
3. Support delivery of technical training on use of digital equipment and platforms

Activities

The Education Technology Consultant is required to work closely with several UNICEF Lebanon colleagues including the Education Specialist, the Digital Learning Consultant and several colleagues from the ICT section.

Progress is monitored monthly in the form of monthly Progress Reports. The contract is signed with a management service provider working with UNICEF. Fees are comparable with similar levels of expertise in international organizations.

Deliverables

• Prepare and submit detailed reports on progress, and findings for each of the component specified in the scope of work section abobe. Reports to be submitted at minimum monthly.
• Provide recommendations for any corrective actions needed.
• Prepare a tracking sheet to document and monitor progress on all programme components specified under the scope of work section.
