Background:
The Lebanese Observatory for Workers & Employees Rights (LWRO) is a Lebanese independent non-profit organization.
LWRO believes in social justice and seek legal protection for all without discrimination. We are committed to principles supported by the international conventions, declarations, and agreements on human rights and gender justice, particularly, the International Convention for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, in addition to recommendations set by the International Labor Organization-ILO as a benchmark for practice and vision.
LWRO seeks to achieve its mission and strategic goal that aims at protecting the rights of all workers and employees in Lebanon, by developing gender-sensitive and human rights-based social protection systems and legal frameworks.
Our theory of change works at different pillars guided by the five interrelated principles of social justice: access, equity, participation, gender equality and human rights. Our interventions cover the following: Empowering workers in Lebanon through labor rights literacy and awareness raising; Advocating for inclusive and non-discriminatory labor law, legislation and social protection policies based on gender equality and decent work; Advocating for the democratization of trade union movement.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
LWRO is looking for a highly skilled, motivated, and committed professional to join our team as a Projects Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Head of Programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Project Implementation:
- Identify and evaluate project requirements, providing detailed reports to management.
- Proactively seek out opportunities to enhance and expand project scope.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project activities.
- Collaborate closely with partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with partners to ensure agreed-upon deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities, facilitating communication between partners, program staff, consultants, beneficiaries, and
experts.
- Implement project activities in alignment with the project design framework.
- Ensure all project activities comply with the policies and regulations of LWRO, partners,and donors.
Coordination:
- Coordinate internally with departments such as finance, media, and procurement to uphold high-quality standards and compliance.
- Work with the media department to increase project visibility through updated web pages, posts, and other online platforms.
- Contribute to the design of logical frameworks for new projects and actively participate in project development.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with partners.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with experts to ensure timely project delivery.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, attending meetings to represent the program when needed.
- Support the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) process in collaboration with the MEAL consultant.
- Prepare comprehensive documents related to project activities, including concept papers, agendas, invitation letters, Terms of Reference (TOR), agreements, and contracts.
- Assist in projects related financial matters.
- Submit regular activity briefs, meeting minutes, and progress reports to internal management.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of project files in both digital and physical formats.
Reporting:
- Prepare and submit periodic narrative reports.
- Contribute to the design of future projects by providing valuable insights.
- Prepare M&E reports, facilitate M&E visits, and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Maintain an organized filing system for all project-related documents.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness in project design, implementation, and monitoring, addressing challenges and implementing innovative solutions.
- Represent LWRO at events and on media platforms as authorized.
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Social Work, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in project coordination within NGOs.
- Proven experience in planning and executing events such as conferences, roundtables, and training sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local CSOs, volunteers, and experts.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in project planning and execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Language Requirements:
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Proficiency in French is an advantage.
