General Purpose of the Position

The PSS Facilitator will be responsible in providing community-based psychosocial support to children and caregivers. This includes conducting awareness sessions for children and caregivers and coordinating with the social worker and psychologist to prepare materials. The facilitator will also be responsible for conducting sessions, as well as handling all related office tasks such as maintaining attendance sheets, tracking forms, and preparing technical reports.

Main Responsibilities of the Position

  • Conducts awareness sessions for children and caregivers in the community, ensuring sessions are informative and engaging;
  • Works with the MHPSS team to develop, adapt, and update materials for PSS sessions;
  • Organizes and facilitates PSS sessions for children, providing a safe and supportive environment for participants;
  • Organizes and facilitates PSS sessions for caregivers, addressing their specific needs and concerns;
  • Maintains accurate attendance records for all sessions and ensures timely submission of attendance sheets;
  • Collects and analyses data from tracking forms to monitor the progress and effectiveness of PSS sessions;
  • Prepares regular technical reports summarizing session outcomes, participant feedback, and recommendations for improvement;
  • Collaborates with the team to identify potential challenges or opportunities for improvement and suggests relevant strategies;
  • Maintains confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards when working with children and caregivers;
  • Maintains a professional and empathetic approach when interacting with participants.

Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or any other related field;
  • Previous experience in facilitating psychosocial support sessions for children and/or caregivers;
  • Strong understanding of child development and mental health issues;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences;
  • Ability to create and adapt training materials;
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail;
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English-Arabic.
