Context & Background

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.  

About ARYAF PROJECT

ARYAF serves Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises operating in food processing, local hospitality, tourism, the restaurant industry, eco-tourism, and agri-tourism within west Bekaa, Zahle, and South Mount Lebanon.  

The program aims to empower sixty MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) to increase their sales volume, implement a business continuity plan, and train their staff, including youth, women, and disabled individuals.

The program is funded by The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in partnership with Berytech, within the framework of Strengthening Agriculture, Local Communities and Small and Medium Enterprises project (ACE). 

Scope of Work

The social media and website development expert will create and manage the online platforms related to businesses in the tourism industry through various social media platforms and create a well-designed website. In addition, the expert will be responsible for creating engaging and shareable content to build brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and increase sales.

The role of the consultant is to increase the visibility and reach of the project among the target audience. The primary responsibilities will include driving traffic to the project’s website and social media platforms, generating leads and conversions for buying the products, booking touristic activities, and building and maintaining a solid online presence.

SME Background

33 North is a tour operator specializing in adventure tours that take travelers off the beaten path, offering unique and immersive experiences. Boukaat Loubnan Trails, managed by 33 North, is a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a variety of hiking trails and outdoor activities in Lebanon. 33 North seeks a professional web developer to update its website, www.boukaatloubnantrails.org to enhance its online presence and streamline its operations. The upgrade will enable the SME to post programs, photos, and videos and facilitate online reservations.

The consultant is expected to fulfill the below vital responsibilities:

1. Client Consultation:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals, target audience, and current marketing challenges.

2. Conduct a thorough digital marketing assessment to identify areas for improvement.​​​​​​Website Design and User Interface

  • Redesign the website to be visually appealing, user-friendly, and mobile-responsive.
  • Ensure the design aligns with the branding of Boukaat Loubnan Trails.
  • Improve navigation to enhance user experience.

3. Content Management System

  • Integrate a CMS that allows easy content updating, including text, images, and videos.
  • Provide training for staff on the use of CMS.

4. Program Posting

  • Develop a section for posting detailed information about various programs and events.
  • Ensure that each program post can include text descriptions, images, and videos.
  • Allow users to filter and search for specific programs.

5. Multimedia Integration

  • Create galleries for photos and videos.
  • Ensure that multimedia content is easy to upload, manage, and display.
  • Optimize multimedia content for fast loading times.
  • Online Reservation System
  • Develop and integrate an online reservation system for booking trails and events.
  • Include features such as availability calendar, booking forms, and payment gateway integration.
  • Ensure secure handling of user data and payments.

6. Testing and Quality Assurance

  • Conduct thorough testing of the new features and design on various devices and browsers.
  • Fix any bugs or issues identified during testing.

​​​​​​​7. Launch and Post-launch Support

  • Assist with the launch of the updated website.
  • Provide post-launch support for a defined period to resolve any emerging issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, web design, or related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, especially in the tourism sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels, including social media, email, and content marketing.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies that drive results.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive informed decisions.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

How to apply

Timeline and Application

The selected Consultant is expected to start their activities as soon as possible after selection (the effective date is to be confirmed), and the contract duration is up to 2 months.

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section “Scope of Work, Outputs, and Deliverables,” elaborating on it further.
  • Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
  • Financial Proposal describing the expected remuneration and the proposed period of the intervention.

The firm/consultant is required to perform a pre-assessment visit/call to the business to assess and quote accordingly.
