The René Moawad Foundation (RMF) is a Lebanese non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization that was established on November 22, 1991 two years after President René Moawad’s assassination.

RMF’s mission is to promote social, economic and rural development in Lebanon and the MENA region and contribute in building a responsible civil society that promotes democratic values, justice, pluralism and moderation.

For over 33 years' operating in Lebanon, and navigating an extremely complex local context, RMF has faced a multitude of challenges in its mission to empower local communities, and help alleviate part of their burden, while striving to build their capacities, grow their potential, sustain their independence, and preserve their dignity and freedom. To that end, RMF has partnered with leading international donors, Governments, international NGOs, the local private sector, and Lebanese diaspora in various countries, in order to respond to the needs of disadvantaged people all over Lebanon.

RMF stands firm on its five pillars encompassing Agriculture, Health and Social Safety Net, Education and Protection, Livelihoods and Economic Growth, and Decentralization and Governance.

In 2023, it has helped 194 311 individuals in Lebanon and provided 40 728 services to vulnerable people.

RMF has tremendous experience in promoting and empowering education (both formal and non-formal), as well as ensuring women empowerment through humanitarian and development projects.

Project Overview:

The proposed 22-month project aims to amplify the voices and agency of feminist-led Community Support Organizations (CSOs) and adolescent girls to subvert gender-related social norms that hinder girls’ participation in education and promote girls’ social inclusion and empowerment. The project will be implemented in Lebanon and Jordan. RMF is the partner responsible for rolling out the project activities, ensuring the furtherance of the project’s goals in Lebanon and Jordan. This will be achieved by supporting and strengthening feminist-led CSOs to implement transformative models of shifting social norms, thereby ensuring marginalized girls have improved access to inclusive and gender-transformative education and are empowered to claim their rights. The project activities entail enhancing feminist CSOs’ organizational capacity and improving access to funding.

Role Overview:

The Project Coordinator will be based in Jordan and will be responsible for all project activities in the country. The ideal candidate will have experience in the management of funded projects, particularly those related to feminist CSOs and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). They should have a strong understanding of the landscape of NGOs and CSOs working in Jordan, with the ability to effectively outreach and collaborate with relevant stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will oversee all aspects of project implementation in Jordan and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives in coordination with the Project Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities in Jordan in accordance with project objectives and timelines.

  4. Monitor project progress, expenditures, and outcomes in Jordan, and ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with project partners, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth implementation and sustainability of project interventions.
  6. Prepare and submit timely reports, including progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation as required by donors.
  7. Identify and mitigate risks and challenges related to project implementation in Jordan, and propose solutions to address them.
  8. Stay updated on relevant developments, trends, and best practices in the field of gender equality, education, and social inclusion.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as International Development, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, etc.). Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management, preferably in the context of gender equality, education, or social inclusion.
  3. Proven experience working with feminist CSOs, NGOs, or similar organizations in Jordan.
  4. Strong understanding of gender-related issues and social norms in Jordan, with a commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s rights.
