The Trocaire Lebanon and Syria Response works through local partners and focuses on delivering an integrated humanitarian response that includes the provision of basic, livelihood, and protection assistance and the strengthening of the social cohesion of the local communities. As a partnership agency, Trócaire works with a portfolio of local partner organisations to strengthen their capacities to deliver humanitarian assistance in a way that ensures compliance with international standards.

 

We are recruiting a Partnership & Capacity Strengthening Coordinator to support our work with partners in the region. The role will report to the Partnerships Program Manager (PPM). The role is based in Beirut with travel in the region, and to partner/project locations.

Tasks for Partnership Coordinator:

Capacity Strengthening & Organisational Development

  • Support the PPM led organizational capacity assessments for technical and organizational capacities.
  • Develop tailored improvement plans for local partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the country office: Programme Managers, Trocaire Global Advisors, and partners to implement capacity strengthening actions and budgeted plans.
  • Engage with Trócaire partners to support their immediate and long-term plans for partnerships growth and program development.
  • Coordinate resource mobilization and technical support for partners based on their needs.
  • Organize trainings and workshops, provide coaching and mentoring, and review capacity strengthening materials.
  • Work with Programme Managers to align programming approaches with best practices and deliver training to partners.

 

Capacity Strengthening Coordination and Management

  • Oversee the timely and effective delivery of Trócaire’s partnership and capacity strengthening work plans.
  • Ensure quality implementation of activities to strengthen partners’ capacities. 
  • Support partners in preparing donor reports for capacity strengthening and partnership related outcomes. 
  • Coordinate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) team for effective monitoring and evaluation of the partnership and capacity strengthening work and impact.
  • Feed into the design of new projects and partnership models.

 

Networking & Coordination on Partnership

  • Support localization activities and events, hence, identify opportunities for shared learning with partners and other agencies.

 

Any other duties as requested by the Line Manager of Trocaire Country Office Senior Management.

(E) Qualification 

Third level qualification in business, human resources, social sciences, law, political sciences, development studies or related field of study 

(E) Experience 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in partnership within development and humanitarian programmes, preferably in the Middle East region. 
  • Experience of implementing capacity building of local civil society organisations 
  • Experience of organisational development, including human resource and other systems strengthening 
  • Experience working with civil society partners and good understanding of partnership approach. 
  • Experience of working with, and a demonstrated understanding of, humanitarian standards and principles of good practice 
  • Experience of developing training materials and providing training to a range of audiences, and experience in mentoring and providing coaching to partner staff. 
  • Experience working on the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon and/or knowledge of the context 
  • Project cycle management using results frameworks and/ or logical frameworks. 

(E) Skills 

  • Proven strategic thinking and planning skills, including ability to think creatively, analyse and be innovative, set priorities, manage work plans and evaluate progress. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead & work in a team. 
  • Excellent facilitation & capacity building skills and experience of applying them when working with individual organisations or groups of organisations. 
  • Excellent written, oral and presentational communications skills.  
  • Strong communication, facilitation and training skills 
  • Excellent and proven organisational skills. 
  • Highly developed relationship, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated capacity for teamwork and coordination 
  • Fluency in Arabic and excellent written and oral English  
  • Solid IT skills
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative, ability to prioritise work
