DESCRIPTION: 

KW is a feminist organization based in Beirut that works on storytelling and oral history, researching women’s stories and histories, developing and making accessible more feminist resources.
In 2023-2024, KW is working on the Feminist Techies project  aiming at documenting the stories of women,feminist and queer experiences with the internet. Last year, the focus of the research was on documenting early feminist engagement with the internet through oral histories (2000-2010). 

This year, the  researcher is expected to hold multiple conversations with feminist groups and individuals from the region, and to facilitate group discussions, mainly covering the period from 2011 to the present day. The researcher is also expected to take part in writing a paper that reflects on these collective discussions, and to present on the research process and major findings in an online webinar organized by KW in 2024. 

Expected timeframe for this position: May- July 2024.

Qualifications:
Researchers must have:

• An MA in Communication Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences, or equivalent experience.
• No less than four years of experience in conducting research and writing papers
• Excellent facilitation skills
• Interest in topics of feminist tech, and feminist use of internet for activism
• Interest in feminist research and writings in Lebanon and the MENA region, and general knowledge of feminist research methodologies. 
• Familiarity with conducting oral history interviews is a plus
• Ability to write accessible essays based on research, and to present the research to a wide and diverse audience
• Residency in Lebanon is important for this position, although a Lebanese nationality is not required.
• Fluency in Arabic and English. French is a big plus

ورشة المعارف مؤسسة نسوية تأسّست عام 2015 تعمل على السرد والتاريخ الشفوي، وإنتاج معارف نسوية وإتاحة الموارد وتوثيق وأرشفة الذاكرة النسوية في لبنان والمنطقة. في 2023-2024، تعمل ورشة المعارف على مشروع "الإنترنت النسوي" الذي يهدف إلى إلى توثيق قصص النساء وتجارب النسويات والكويريات/ين مع الإنترنت. في العام الماضي، كان تركيز البحث على توثيق مقابلات التاريخ الشفوي حول بداية تفاعل النسويات مع الإنترنت (2000-2010).

هذه السنة، نتوقع من الباحثة أن تجري عدة محادثات مع أفراد ومجموعات نسوية من المنطقة، وأن تيسّر مناقشات جماعية تتناول بشكل رئيسي الفترة الزمنية من عام 2011 حتى يومنا هذا. كما يُتوقّع من الباحثة كتابة مقال تعكس هذه النقاشات الجماعية، وأن تقوم بعرض عملية البحث والنتائج الرئيسية في ندوة أونلاين تنظمها ورشة المعارف حول هذا المشروع خلال هذه السنة.

الإطار الزمني: أيّار - تموز 2024

• ماجستير في مجال فنون الإتصال أو الإنسانيات أو العلوم الاجتماعية أو ما يعادلها من خبرة
• خبرة لا تقل عن أربع سنوات في إجراء الأبحاث
• خبرة في تيسير النقاشات الجماعية
• اهتمام ومعرفة بموضوع الإنترنت النسوي، واستخدام النسويات للإنترنت في النشاط السياسي
• خبرة في الأبحاث والكتابات والمنهجيات النسوية بشكل عام
• خبرة بإجراء مقابلات التاريخ الشفوي تعدّ ميزة إضافية
• قدرة على كتابة وتقديم البحث إلى جمهور متنوع
• التواجد في لبنان ضروري لهذه الوظيفة، مع الترحيب بجميع الجنسيات
• إتقان اللغة العربية والانجليزية مهم لهذه الوظيفة، وإتقان الفرنسية تعدّ ميزة إضافية
