Community Mobilizer/Social Worker

Scope of work:

The Community Mobilizer will work on the community level, and will be responsible to implement the Child Protection’s unit community-based interventions as per the project activities in Beirut and Mount Lebanon areas.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Maintain and update database related to conducted activities and referral pathway in each location;
• Provide PSS activities to children, adolescents and caregivers based on specialized developed tools including the Citadel of Protection toolkit, SRHR toolkit, life skills, FPSS etc.;
• Provide community-based interventions within areas of implementation in Beirut and Mount Lebanon related to peer training and coaching, protection committees’ training and coaching, identifying influencers, key focal points and stakeholders.
• Provide schedule of activities on weekly/ monthly basis;
• Raise logistics and technical challenges;
• Fill reports upon completion of each cycle of activities and upon request according to the UNICEF reporting system;
• Identify gaps regarding practices, knowledge and attitude of community members and provide necessary support; 
• Maintain and update database on some sensitization activities;
• Refer cases received while conducting activities or from committee members and follow up on their referral;
• Maintain good relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders;
• Coordinate with M&E consultant and provide them with needed information and database and documents related to monitoring activities;
• Maintain a database on referred cases and their follow up;
• Meet external requests in terms of events and awareness sessions sent to KAFA by schools, universities and other organizations;
• Attend external and internal trainings when required;
• Attend meetings when required.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in social work;
• 1 year of practical experience in community development and mobilization
• A proven record of SGBV and CP knowledge and experience;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluency in Arabic and English is a must, and knowledge of French is a plus. 
• Problem-solving skills; Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with challenging social problems and behaviors;
• Time Management and Organizational skills; High level of flexibility in terms of time and mobility and availability to work for long hours and at night time in case of emergencies;
• Teamworking skills with an ability to work independently
• High ethics and commitment to women’s rights;
• People Oriented; High respect for and ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds;
• Ability to quickly build trust and rapport in interpersonal relationships;
• Flexible and adaptable.
