Part Time Music Teacher - Saadnayel
Salam LADC (Salam) is an apolitical, non-religiously affiliated NGO, founded in the South of Lebanon. We provide education and livelihood support services and emergency aid to vulnerable people, regardless of their nationality, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. Operations are conducted in Beirut, Central Bekka and Kawkaba. Currently our largest operation is in Central Bekaa, where we offer a multitude of projects within our Community Centre with the addition of ad hoc projects within the local communities such as the ‘Bus Project’.
We are looking to recruit a music teacher (2 sessions per week) at our Saadnayel Community Center. The sessions will last an hour and have a maximum of 15 students. We have various musical instruments at the community center, and would like to find a teacher who is proficient in multiple.
Students will be both Syrian and Lebanese and a goal of the activity is to foster positive relations between members of these communities ; as such, the teacher should be sensitive to inter-community tensions and actively use the lessons as an opportunity to discuss diversity, kindness and respect.
Please note, transportation costs are not provided.
Essential:
- Knowledge and understanding of NGOs and humanitarian work.
- Very good level of English
- Proficiency in multiple instruments
- Experience teaching music
Desired:
- Experience in education in deprived areas
- Experience in social stability and dialogue building
