Background:

EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) is a policy network that provides expertise in the field of gender equality and women’s rights as inseparable from democracy building and citizenship, and advocates for political solutions to all conflicts, and for the right of peoples to self-determination. EFI seeks to improve and promote women’s rights as universal human rights, the value of gender equality and the use of non-violent means to solve conflicts. Our criterion and position align with the international resolutions and conventions and regional instruments promoting the universality of women’s rights and strengthening women's impact and voices in conflict resolution.

The assignment:

EuroMed Feminist Initiative is issuing a 140-page guideline in Arabic that needs proofreading within the period of 3 weeks.

Scope of work

• Ensure that content meets the organizations’ values and guidelines
• Proofread, edit and improve the linguistic content of a guide that is produced by EFI
• Copyedit and find and correct inconsistencies and errors
• Ensure Arabic texts conveys original meaning and tone

      Qualifications, Background and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Arabic language, communications, Translation, Literature, Linguistics or relevant field
• Excellent Arabic writing and editing skills
• Minimum 5 years of experience in proofreading
• Exceptional attention to detail and grammar
• Demonstrated experience in editing and proofreading gender related publications in Arabic
