Assignment Context: The UN Volunteer is responsible for the initial design and mock-up of project inceptions, progress reports, implemented projects including the final source code/design/images/animations, and technical documentation and user manuals for deployed websites. 

Under the supervision of the Associate Information Systems Officer, the International UN Volunteer Specialist is responsible to perform the below functions: 

• Create the look, layout, and features of a website in attractive professional graphic design in an intuitive, user-friendly style and design collaterals; 
• Develop frontend for websites using UN established standards for web development, IT technologies, programming languages and tools; 
• Interpret user requirements and translate these into systems specifications; 
• Analyse and advise on innovative web-based solutions; 
• Prepare technical and user documentation for deployed website, application systems, as well as training materials and conducts technical presentations; 
• Maintain functional specifications for websites, programs and procedures developed and/or modified; 
• Provide support for deployed websites including version management, data recovery and deployment; 
• Organizes and performs unit and integrated testing, designing and using test bases; 
• Support digitization, visualization and development of infographics for various products; 
• Train staff on completed systems/applications.
