About the USAID-Funded Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) Activity in Lebanon:

The USAID-funded Lebanon Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) Activity, implemented by Chemonics International, aims to develop rural economies in Lebanon through support to the agro-food sector and other industries to unlock local and export sales potential while also creating jobs and increasing farmers' and workers' incomes.

The rising costs of food, fuel, and fertilizers are exacerbated by the devaluation of Lebanese Lira, which for many farmers that sell into the local market have made their enterprises unprofitable or break-even at best. Accordingly, ARE is suggesting an intervention to improve local food security while securing agricultural production by addressing energy-related issues that hinder production and livelihoods.

Only those Interested Parties submitting a response to this request for EOI will be considered for prequalification on the supply, and installation, of small to medium scale solar systems, renewable energy systems, and/or PV applications for agri-food production and processing units, currently being under operation.
