Project: Menstrual Hygiene Project
With funding from UN Women and the Government of Japan, ACTED will implement activities tackling period poverty/menstrual hygiene issues. As a part of this, ACTED plans to support a community-based entity to set up a manufacturing facility for the local production of menstrual hygiene products in Bourj Hammoud, Saida and Tripoli. The project will provide support for equipment and raw materials, as well as staffing support to kick start operations and sales for 3 months. In addition, the project will provide vocational & life skills trainings to vulnerable populations working on production & sales.
ACTED is now seeking a legal consultant to support in the registration of the three entities, factories and brands with the ministry of industry and any other relevant public authority.
- Key deliverables
- Identify and list detailed requirements for any relevant registration processes for the good development of the business
- Advise Acted-supported businesses accordingly, and support them in gathering relevant required documents
Oversee the submission of the Registration requests by the Acted-supported businesses at any relevant public authority
• Follow up with the ministry of industry and any other relevant body on any relevant registration processes
Obtain registration certificates within the contract timeline, with the ministry of industry and any other relevant registration for the Acted-supported businesses as required by the project
- Required competencies
- Providing advice on legal matters, specifically in the field of trade, economy, health and industry.
- Drafting legal opinions, memoranda, and briefing documents in comprehensible terms for non-technical staff.
- Reviewing legal material.
- Monitoring the implementation of the legal clauses.
- Legal Advisor Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in law
- Experience in the law field, specifically in the field of trade, economy, health and industry.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and individually.
- Ability to work long hours when needed.
- Expertise in SMEs and CSOs registration is a plus
