PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
- BACKGROUND
Step Together Association (STA) is a secular, non-political and non-profit organization that works with children and adults with special needs.
Step Together is inspired by the educational principles of Rudolf Steiner* and is recognized by the international curative education council at Goetheanum (Switzerland). Rudolf Steiner’s ideology and educational methods are based on the acceptance of the spiritual uniqueness of each human being regardless of his disabilities, religious or racial background.
The association offers a comprehensive and holistic approach to education, care, and therapy for around 200 special needs individuals with learning difficulties, intellectual disabilities and different levels of autism, ranging in ages between 3 to 60 years old, across its different programs. Its work also involves monitoring the health of students and extending emotional and psychological support to their families.
Step Together Association is located by the riverside of Mansourieh Al Daishounieh, a mere 15 minutes’ drive from downtown Beirut, a venue that lies amidst a peaceful environmentally protected area, surrounded by trees, mountains and water.

- JOB PURPOSE
The professional development coordinator provides administrative support in a well-organized and timely manner. She/he will work on a variety of tasks across sections in collaboration with the Association’s President.
- SCOPE OF WORK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow up on the digital platform across sections
- Follow up on one drive files across sections
- Explore resource mobilization opportunities and develop project proposals
- Draft reports
- Plan and prepare teacher training courses on Moodle
- Review, proofread, and edit documents
- Supervise and ensure the proper implementation of educational platforms
- Schedule and plan meetings
- Maintain an appropriate filing system
- Act as a point of contact and assistance to handle requests and queries from senior members
- Contribute to Step Together as a member of its community and respect its code of conduct, ethics, and obligations toward others
- Attend administrative meetings and deliver requested tasks within the set timeframe
- Follow up on requested deadlines and submissions
- Prepare weekly, monthly and yearly reports for all duties related to the job description.
- Draft letters and various correspondence related to professional development
- QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS
- Qualifications
A bachelor's or Master’s degree in Education from an accredited institution.
- Experience
- Essential Experience:
One to three years in administrative educational leadership positions.
- Desirable experience:
Computer literate. Experienced with standard office procedures and software.

- Skills:
1. Language Proficiency:

- Mastery of English communication skills, both written and oral; French would be an advantage

- Strong Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Cloud
- The ability to use web-based tools for research and communication is an advantage.

- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
He / She reports to the administration manager or to the president of Step Together. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- PHYSICAL HARDSHIP
No physical hardship is associated with this position.
- POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours and days are Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
