We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Officer to join our team. The HR Officer will be assisting the HR Manager in the various HR functions, supporting employee relations, implementing HR policies, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Possessing an Experience with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is highly valued for this position.

The HR officer will be assisting the HR manager in the following responsibilities:

  • Complete the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Be actively involved in completing the recruitment process in line with the Center’s SoPs and donors’ recommendations. The HR officer will typically need to write and post a job ad, review resumes, pre-screen candidates, administer and score skills tests, support in interviewing applicants, assist the HR manager and relevant committee in making a hiring decision, ensure conducting and receiving reference checks documents, preparing employment offers, complete HR files for all active and new employees, keep record of all former employee’s contracts and files including the exit interview report.
  • Create and implement effective onboarding plans involving several key steps to ensure new hires are smoothly integrated into the organization.
  • Provide the new recruited employees with the necessary resources including the center’s policies. 
  • Develop capacity building programs.
  • Conduct Regular performance management as required.
  • Maintain employee records (attendance, EEO data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements.
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR processes and recommend improvements or corrective actions as necessary.
  • Stay updated on labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance and advise management accordingly. Collaborate closely with the legal firm and lawyers, regularly seeking legal advice to support the center.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support-HR – related initiatives and foster a positive work environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management with minimum of 3 years’ experience, Business Administration, or related field with minimum of 5 years’ experience working in HR roles, with a strong understanding of HR functions, policies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Practical knowledge and belief in upholding Human Rights in general
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and MS Office Suite.
