Contribute to Lebanon’s Maritime Strategy

A sound Lebanese maritime strategy has significant impact across different areas including security, economy, trade, education, employment, tourism, industry, environment and the country as a whole. 

The EU-funded Integrated Border Management Projects (EUIBMLBN3) invites local organizations and businesses across different sectors to contribute and shape the “Integrated National Maritime Strategy of Lebanon”. 

Initiated in 2021, the first draft of the “Integrated Maritime Concept of Lebanon” was developed by the EUIBMLB3 project, in coordination with the Border Control Committee of the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, together with representatives from concerned ministries, security/safety agencies and public sector.  

The draft paper outlines the core mission and vision for the maritime domain, outlines the challenges, weaknesses/ strengths and identifies some of the main objectives for the future of maritime in Lebanon. 

To ensure a comprehensive Lebanese Maritime Strategy, the development process cannot be concluded without extensive consultation with relevant Lebanese Private sectors and Civil Society’s representatives.

We would like to invite interested entities to contribute to the paper on the following areas, who are engaged in the maritime sphere:

·        Economy/Trade

• ·        Education
• ·        Employment
• ·        Environment
• ·        Industry
• ·        Tourism

The consultation process will take place from 1 until 30 June. A conclusion session will be held on 6 July 2022 with separate invitation to parties of the consultation process.
