Training Consultant - Project Development and Soft Skills

ARCS is co-implementing a 3-pillar intervention in Baalbek-Hermel that places youth-based social cohesion mechanisms at the centre of the initiative, in strong connection with protection and livelihoods components. The intervention aims at reducing social tensions and expanding protection spaces for target communities by adopting a comprehensive approach which focuses both on engaging youth as actors of social change in the displacement-affected communities and on improving local stakeholders’ capacity to build networks and respond to community challenges.

ARCS is currently recruiting a Training Consultant with strong demonstrated experience in: 1) Needs Assessment and Data Analysis; 2) Project Development and Budgeting; 3) Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting; and 4) Presentation Skills. The position entails a 4-day training for youth in Baalbeck-Hermel Governorate.

Responsibilities:

• Establish a training curriculum in strict coordination with ARCS Project Manager on the following topics: 1) Needs Assessment and Data Analysis; 2) Project Development and Budgeting; 3) Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting; and 4) Presentation Skills;
• Preapare clear and relevant training materials (presentations, videos, excercises, ...);
• Prepare and conduct pre- and post- tests to participants;
• Conduct a 4-day training in Baalbeck area at the beginning of May 2022 (4h / day); Please note that the training shall be delivered in Arabic.

Skills:

• Strong oral and written communications skills (Arabic and English);
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with youth;
• Good computer skills with good command of commonly used software for presentation (PowerPoint, Prezi, Google Slides, ...);
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Demonstrated training experience;
• Dynamic and pro-active, with strong problem solving skills;
• Flexible mobility within Baalbek-Hermel Governorate;
• Familiarity with the area of implementation, cultural sensitivity and adaptability;

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A bachelor degree in the field of intervention or demonstrated working experience in the field of intervention;
• At least 3 years of relevant training experience on the following topics: 1) Needs Assessment and Data Analysis; 2) Project Development and Budgeting; 3) Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting; and 4) Presentation Skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ToC, PCM, M&E, AAP, Conflict sensitivity and Do-No-Harm approach;
• Strong budgeting skills;
• Fluency in Arabic and English, both oral and written is essential;
• Preferable experience in Social Stability and/or Youth interventions.
