TERRE Liban is currently implementing a Grant project funded by the EU entitled "Conservation of Environmentally Sensitive National Areas in Lebanon (CESNA-LB).

This project of 24 months’ duration aims to provide affordable, economic, practical, and easy-flying tools and instruments that could fill a variety of roles in the conservation of biodiversity and environmentally sensitive areas in Lebanon. It is articulated around three compononents : 

Component 1: Characterization of ESA. 
Component 2: Policy and Legal.
Component 3: Monitoring of environmental risks and violations. 

A freelance Graphic designer and videographer is required to be part of a team that manages the CESNA Project.

 

Job purpose

Under the guidance of the Project Coordinator, the Graphic designer & Videographer will conceptualize, produce and design of projects communication material and content. The individual will need to produce engaging, informative, and relevant presentation materials in support of project activity on short notice, providing creative direction, graphic design and brand management for CESNA-LB project through a variety of media including print publications, online presence, multimedia and animation for a 22 months contract.

The main duties and Responsibilities are:

 

Graphical design

  • Conceptualize and design visuals based on the project’s requirements including publications, deliverables for conferences, events, etc.
  • Produce infographics, presentations, reports, training material and other print and digital materials
  • Uplift presentations
  • Work on images for the website if needed
  • Create short explanatory videos (images & text or images/video/text/VO)

Website Content Management and Social Media Channels 

  • The Graphic Designer will play a leading role in the visual design and development of the web presence as well as social media platforms
  • Manage the project’s social media channels, ensure updated regularly with quality content showcasing the project’s progress and achievements
  • Design and implement a web content management strategy; ensure it is regularly updated with quality content
  • Ensure full website backend technically maintained

Photograph/film

  • Maintain an adequate supply of still photo images for use online (Website and social media channels) and in print publications, either by direct photography, by sourcing and acquiring appropriate commercial image galleries, or by arranging photo shoots with an external production company
  • Either directly film or coordinate with external vendors to film and edit the project’s events/interviews for Web multimedia placement, and maintain an organized record of footage

Qualifications

  1. Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, film production or related field,
  2. Experience
    • At least five years of similar professional experience is required.  Candidate should be able to work independently – with minimum supervision and guidance from supervisors.
  3. Required skills
    • Proven graphic designing experience
    • Demonstrable experience in the use of design software (such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop or other similar tools)
    • A strong portfolio of infographics or other designs
    • Familiarity with best practices for graphics and video content on social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
    • Creative, with strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and perform well under-pressure, as well as collaboratively with colleagues
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good internal and external relationships
    • Excellent command of written, read and spoken Arabic and English
