Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) Activity - Request for Application (RFA) #011 - Strengthening Lebanese Livelihoods by Supporting Agricultural Production
The USAID-funded Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) activity, implemented by Chemonics International, is seeking grant applications for the implementation of a six to eight-month intervention entitled “Strengthening Lebanese Livelihoods by Supporting Agricultural Production” to help address the food access problems that rural, agricultural families face in the short term (Spring/Early Summer planting), supporting them with the ability to grow, consume and if desired sell the production of healthy and nutritious crops. The proposed intervention will work with one or more local partners across Lebanon to distribute vegetable seeds, seedlings and/or compost to at least 5000 small-holder open-field farmers that grow in both unirrigated and irrigated production systems, are nutritious, easily stored, and, with any surplus, are easily sold for income.
The grants will be awarded and implemented in accordance with USAID and US Government regulations governing grants under contracts and ARE’s internal grant management policies.
How to apply
Applications should be submitted in electronic copy only to the ARE grant email address: [email protected] and should reference RFA No.011. Deadline for submitting the applications is 05:00 PM Beirut local time, on March 4, 2022. Late or unresponsive applications will not be considered. Only electronic submissions to [email protected] will be accepted. No hard copy applications will be accepted.
ARE will hold a non-mandatory pre-application virtual workshop on February 15, 2022 on MS Team from 10 AM to 12 AM. Interested applicants that meet the eligibility requirements defined in Section III of the RFA and would like to attend this workshop must confirm their attendance by sending the participant’s name and the organization’s name to [email protected] by February 14, 2022 at 5PM.
Applicants may also submit questions to [email protected] prior to the virtual workshop. Deadline for submission of clarification questions is February 21, 2022 at 5PM.
