POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The individual in this role will ensure the success of the Amideast Lebanon HR function by developing and maintaining HR processes to meet Amideast/Lebanon’s staffing needs and maximize productivity and employee engagement. In this role, s/he will manage the HR function effectively, develop and maintain processes to meet staffing needs and to maximize employee engagement, represent Amideast to help expand network in Lebanon, manage contracting procedures for staff and independent consultants in compliance with corporate guidelines and local law, oversee HRIS for accurate employee and staffing information. This role is critical to internal client service success and will work to ensure a team environment amongst Amideast staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate contracts, guidelines, timelines, and budgets for HR functional area
  • Report on HR activities, achievements, and challenges to the Country Director and HQ HR
  • Ensure records are well maintained and organized
  • Supervise staff, consultants, trainers, volunteers, and interns as needed
  • Lead the internship and volunteering program
  • Manage full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, changes, development, and exit processes for Field Office in Lebanon
  • Provide relevant training opportunities for staff
  • Plan and implement events and activities for employee engagement
  • Represent Amideast at professional conferences, meetings, events and forums
  • Oversee contracting procedures for staff and independent consultants
  • Manage HRIS and ensure data is accurate and updated
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal clients and to external parties
  • Contribute to ensuring a safe and professional work environment
  • Prepare and update internal HR documents, templates, and trackers
  • Support staff and leadership with performance management
  • Support change management initiatives

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a human resource role
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in use of digital tools for communications (including Microsoft Teams and Zoom)
  • Excellent writing and copywriting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, time management, and leadership skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to multitask and adapt
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office; high proficiency in Excel
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a must
  • Ability to handle HR matters in a discrete and confidential manner
  • Willingness to work on evenings and weekends, as needed, for activities, events or meetings
  • Lebanese citizenship

 

Preferred

  • French language fluency
  • Prior experience using Human Resources Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office.
