Terms of reference for a training course aimed at strengthening Solidarites International managers in leading their teams towards performance objectives while promoting a positive work environment.

ABOUT THE STRUCTURE of the INGO:

Solidarités International is an International NGO working with vulnerable populations, mainly victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Specialized for nearly 40 years in the coverage of vital needs, S.I. takes charge of emergency and reconstruction programs.

With respect for cultures and close to the people, Solidarités International implements its programs by combining its skills with those of its employees and local managers.

Solidarités International's teams, made up of around 270 expatriates and nearly 2200 local employees, are today present in 18 countries in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Caribbean where they are particularly committed to fighting diseases related to unsafe water but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods.

 

Objectives of the Training

  • Provide SI managers with a comprehensive knowledge of their duties & their accountability as managers, considering the specify of the INGO way of working.
  • Self-Assessment tools, in order to bring attendees to reflect on their own effectiveness/weaknesses as a manager
  • Teach different managerial approaches + transactional analysis in relation to their own professional practice, leading to identifying concrete actions to improve their performance as a humanitarian manager
  • Enhance their ability of creating a shared vision, leading collaboratively and communicating effectively
  • Explain how a humanitarian manager can effectively build and manage the performance of the individuals in their team
  • Conflict resolution

The methodology will include:

  • Play role
  • Case studies
  • coaching approach
  • Top down lesson about transactional analysis and different managerial approach
  • Group work

 

Duration and dates

  • 3 days of face to face training
  • 9am to 5.30 pm, with one-hour break
  • November 2021

Profile

  • Training and qualifications:

Ideally (but not limited to) training engineering and/or psychology, sociology of organizations, HR, coaching.

 

  • Specific professional experience:

Experience in theatre, role play, deep knowledge of the humanitarian sector, proven experience in training for professional

 

  • Languages: English and Arabic
