Video production expert

Background

The main purpose of this role is to involve youth in the production of 3 advocacy videos to help them engage in critical thinking activities and develop their capacities to advocate their community’s rights and be active agents of change in the society. These videos would result in advocating people’s causes, express their demands, and reach the wider public.

Responsibilities:

• Produce three videos within a period of one month with youth that includes script writing, videography, editing, audio balancing, sub titling, format exporting, archiving raw and edited work.
• Deliver sessions for youths on video production
• Keep track of the youths’ learning skills about videography
• Submit weekly reports of youths’ progress to the project coordinator
• Ensure the highest quality of videos to adequaly represent Dawaer

Key competencies

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related to film, journalism, media, photography or related fields
• Previous experience in working with an NGO especially in video production
• Training in film management.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere.
• Experience with basic filming equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active listener with good interpersonal skills and ability to question, reflect and challenge attitudes and beliefs.
• Versatile and adaptable to different cultures and people

Working Relation and Reporting Arrangement

The video production expert works under the direct supervision of and reports directly to the project coordinator.
