General job purpose:

The Protection Mobile Unit project, implemented by Amel Association International in partnership with the French NGO Samusocial International (SSI), aims at providing street based children and their family with psycho-social and medical assistance.

The Team Coordinator ensures the operational functioning of the Protection Mobile Unit according to Samusocial International’s methodology of intervention. He/She participates in developing and managing the activities of the mobile teams, and supervises the professionals on the field (1 nurse, 1 social worker, 1 drivers/social assistant). He/She contributes, with the project staff and under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, to the development of Amel’s mobile protection service in Beirut South suburbs.

Responsibility n°1: Organizing the intervention of the mobile teams

- Mapping the areas of intervention, and updating it according to the needs identified in the field.

- Defining the daily and weekly plans, based on the priorities of intervention and in close coordination with the mobile team (during the daily briefings and weekly meetings).

- Defining on a daily basis the sites covered / follow up / referral / visits / other tasks to be performed, in coordination with the team members.

-Participating to the street rounds at least twice a month to monitor and support the teams on the field. Reinforcing the team during the street rounds if any member of staff is absent.

-Organizing and facilitating, in coordination with the mobile teams, group activities (group therapies, awareness sessions, recreational activities, etc.).

-Verifying that all the working tools of the Protection Mobile Unit are operational (vehicle, material, nursing supplies, etc.), and coordinate with the head of center and the project coordinator for the maintenance and order issues.

-Verifying the implementation of the confidentiality policy, relevant to the local context and according to the security situation.

-Ensuring that the safety rules and procedures are properly implemented by the mobile teams during interventions. Reporting on risks and safety incidents. Participating to the adaptation of the safety strategy.  

- Identifying the needs and suggesting new activities.

 

Responsibility n°2: Leading the professionals of the mobile teams

-Organizing one daily briefing which the team and at least one general weekly meeting to address the individual situations of the beneficiaries and any other operational issue.

- Ensuring the implementation of decisions taken during the Weekly meeting.

- Providing technical support to the team, in collaboration with the Project Coordinator and the support of the SSI’s focal point.

-Identifying the team’s needs in terms of capacity building and informs the Project Coordinator.

- Managing the schedule and replacing team members during street rounds if needed.

- Informing the Head of center and project coordinator of any professional misconduct.

-Attending regular coordination meetings with Amel HQ staff (including the Project Coordinator), and, a monthly meeting with SSI technical staff.

- Attending all trainings related to SSI’s methodology.

 

Responsibility n°3: Reporting about the activities

-Collecting the data about the field activities and enter them in the dedicated databases.

- Ensuring individual files are well organized and properly filled.

-Reporting on a weekly basis through the report template on the activities implemented during the week and sharing this document with the Head of center, the Project Coordinator. A monthly report will be done each month.

 

Responsibility 4: Partnerships with external stakeholders

-Ensuring adequate coordination with external partners in case of individual referrals, informing the project coordinator of any difficulties encountered

-Contributing, with the Project Coordinator and SSI technical staff, to the development of the operational network and attend meetings with operational partners.

 

Coordination :

The Coordinator of the Protection Mobile Unit liaises, for all issues, to the Head of center, and the Project Coordinator.

MA in Psychology, Social Work, Business Management or any other relevant field. - 3 years’ experience as front line worker, preferably social worker / case worker in Child Protection (required). - At least 2 years’ experience in team management, excellent team spirit (required). - Excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution skills. - Good organizational skills. - Excellent knowledge of actors involved in Beirut – Mount Lebanon and Child protection. - Fluency in English, French is a strong asset (required) - Good knowledge of project management. - Good knowledge in Child Protection.
