I- Reporting

• To support the education assistant in centre with children registration, family needs assessment and follow up with families: phone calls, home visits…
• To develop a detailed monthly activity plan in coordination with the CP officer, indicating specifically the aim and the objectives of the activities and to closely monitor results achieved with the beneficiaries of the age groups mention above.
• To report on a weekly basis daily to the CP officer/ field coordinator in AVSI on the activities conducted and on the upcoming planned activities.

II- Children well being

• To ensure that the beneficiaries have the possibility to participate in designing the activity, in order to express themselves and to be heard.
• To ensure that the beneficiaries are all involved in the activity and that there is possibility for boys and girls to work both together and in gender based groups.
• To facilitate the PSS and life skills structured sessions targeting children attending NFE courses; in line with the tools and guidance provided by the CP core group of the consortium. The animator needs to facilitate the activities remotely or in person.
• To plan extracurricular and recreational activities to be implemented inside or outside the learning spaces; in coordination with the field coordinator and teammates.
• To coordinate the activities with scouts and public school’s teachers in charge of recreational/ cultural activities in public schools.
• To monitor the child’s behaviour progresses and provide feedback for the concerned staff in the centre and in AVSI.
• Identification of children with special needs or potential Child Protection abuse cases and referral to child protection officer.
• Dealing with difficult behaviours (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion) of children and put in place the guidance received by the CP officer and education specialist.
• To ensure the inclusiveness of children with special needs in PSS/life skills activities and monitor accessibility.

III- Center environment 

• To ensure that safety measures for children in centres are respected and during embark/debark of children from buses.
• Accompany/ spot check bus trips and monitor the performance of teachers’ assistants and bus monitors during transportation of children from home- centre and centre-home.
• To ensure that all fields in the child friendly space checklist are respected and optimized at all time in the centre.
• Ensure that all personnel’s working with the center and service providers are respecting the conditions of AVSI child protection policy on which they have been trained.
• Attend and give inputs to the Monthly Education/ CP meeting with the teachers and personnel in the centers with a clear agenda and feedback to be shared with the field coordinator and the EDU/CP technical team.

IV- Activities addressed to caregivers

• Identify caregivers to be engaged in the educational activities and plan for this activities with the field coordinator and the education assistant in the center.
• Plan, organize co-facilitate regular awareness sessions with caregivers in the center in collaboration with the education assistant in the center.

V-Others

• Ensure that the program is carried out in compliance with EU and AVSI administrative procedures
• Identify and refer logistic needs of the centers and schools to the field coordinator
• Participate in project staff training with other AVSI staff and consortium staff.
• Perform other duties within areas of responsibility as requested by the supervisor
