The position reports to the Lebanon Program & Operations Director.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in refugee, human rights, and immigration/international law, and to be part of a growing agency that makes an impact on the lives of refugees.
Responsibilities
- Manage post-submission client caseload check-in schedule
- Serve as main point of contact for clients who have updates for IRAP after the formal submission of their application to an adjudicator
- Manage intake docket, including assigning intakes to staff and volunteers on the basis of urgency level and geographic location, and providing applicants with key information ahead of their interviews
- Conduct client screening and intake interviews, over the phone and in person.
- Organize/update case files and maintain client file database
- Provide logistical support in coordinating with staff, volunteers, interpreters, clients, partner organizations, and government and UN agencies
- Draft intake reports, correspondence, and other documents as needed
- Attend occasional trainings, capacity-building meetings, and other events relevant to human rights and refugee issues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BA or equivalent work experience required - MA in related field is a plus
- Arabic fluency required, native speaker level preferred
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced and high-pressure work environment
- Highly organized and motivated with excellent time management skills
- Able to multitask and manage a high volume workload
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Sensitivity to client empowerment and to working with clients of all backgrounds, including LGBTI clients, survivors of trauma, and other vulnerable populations.
- Prior nonprofit/NGO employment is a plus, especially in the international humanitarian context
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
