English Educator

Tahaddi is a non-governmental organization registered under presidential decree number 1578. Tahaddi’s mission is to help and support the most socially marginalized people in Lebanon, by facilitating access to education, health and psychosocial services. Tahaddi provides holistic support to families, regardless of nationality, religion or social background.

The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) provides educational opportunities for at-risk, out of school children in the area of Hay el Gharbeh, south of Beirut (behind the Sport City).. In addition to teaching at the elementary school level, educators will also be involved in other activities such as tutoring children of the community and organizing social activities during the month of July.

Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 3.30pm

Position Tasks:

• Manage and educate groups of children aged 7 to 14 according to the TEC requirements, using exciting methods and instructional materials to meet children’s varying needs and interests.
• Prepare monthly and weekly plans.
• Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior and social development.
• Show patience and demonstrate ability to manage the class using appropriate methods.

• Maintain a safe and positive atmosphere between children.

• Meet regularly and effectively with the coordinator.
• Work in harmony with team members.
• Show self-motivation, professionalism, enthusiasm and creativity.
• Take part in professional development opportunities.

Job Requirements:

• BA Degree in Education with an emphasis on English or a related BA. Teaching Diploma is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit, sense of initiative, desire to learn, and flexibility.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Nonjudgmental attitude, maturity and patience in dealing with children and community members of different backgrounds.
