Unite Lebanon Youth Project is a nonprofit organization founded to break down the social barriers that exist among the children, youth and women within Lebanese host community and/or its refugee populations. ULYP addresses the causes of animosity and sectarianism that continue to sustain civil conflict and political instability within Lebanon. Limited access to basic educational services makes it harder for children and youth to reach their full potential and increases the risk of having a generation that is frustrated, angry and isolated from each other.
ULYP works with all marginalized children and youth regardless of race, religion, gender, or nationality to transform lives and achieve lasting change.ULYP aims to unite the underprivileged children and young adults and give them the necessary tools to break the cycle of violence and build a peaceful, united society. ULYP’s programs play an active role in instilling the values of respect, citizenship, and cooperation in the youth of Lebanon’s often conflicted communities. Our programs aspire to bring democratic values, freedom of expression, equality, and human rights principles to the entire community. Through the child we educate the family, and through the family we unite the nation.
In order to sustain the change ULYP is promoting, we also work with mothers and women in the same underprivileged communities to prepare the home to welcome and uphold the new behaviors of their children.
