NEF Lebanon office is looking to select a consultant to evaluate Year 2 of its US BPRM funded project, while looking into the results of Year 1 since although it is a 2-year project, the target group and activities are separated in both years. Therefore, the consultant will evaluate Year 2 but at the same time look at the lessons learned from Year 1 and link it to Year 2 findings. NEF Lebanon office is looking to select a consultant to create a strategy and a comprehensive sustainability plan for the Siraj Centers across Taanayel, Berqayel and Halba including the Livelihood and protection services provided within these centers that will be used as guidance for the “Reducing Vulnerability of Syrian Refugees and Lebanese in Lebanon III- Year 2” project staff and key stakeholders to map the long-term sustainability.

With funding from US BPRM, the Near East Foundation (NEF) is currently implementing a project assisting vulnerable individuals. Under the project, NEF intends to support 300 persons in north Lebanon (Halba and Berkayel) and in central Bekaa (Taanayel) with vocational training. Each training is expected to be between 24-40 hours, maximum 10 consecutive days in duration.

The Near East Foundation (NEF) is promoting increased economic empowerment of vulnerable individuals in Lebanon, including poor and marginalized women and youth, through capacity building and support of market-linked skills development, the development of new income-generating activities (IGAs) and MSMEs, and access to services to support growth of existing, high-potential IGAs and MSMEs.

Project Overview: The 2 year - project (from September 2018 till September 2020), implemented in 3 areas (Taanayel, Berqayel and Halba) aims to reduce household economic vulnerability and reliance on harmful coping strategies by increasing access & knowledge to livelihoods and protection information and providing business skills on how to start and manage income generating activities.
