The Lebanese Association for History is seeking a consultant to support it on proposal and
report writing.
Join us to fulfil our vision at LAH to foster a healed coexistence in Lebanon and cultivate
individuals capable of meaningful interaction and growth in the twenty-first century. We
aim to achieve this by enhancing the teaching of history and advancing it as a human
science.
The Report and Proposal Writer is required to support in the development of proposals and
to lead in donor report writing. S/he is also expected to work closely with LAH’s president
and the Executive Team.

The Lebanese Association for History is seeking a writer for two educational units that cover Lebanon’s history since its independence in 1943 and aim to address the marginalization of women in the wider historical narratives covering this period. The units include a multitude of sources presenting different perspectives and uncovering women’s roles, realities, and causes.

The Lebanese Association for History aims to fill the void that resulted from the failure to issue a national curriculum in the post war period, and the ensuing marginalization of history education in Lebanon. Moreover, it builds on the role of history education in the processes of dealing with the past in post conflict societies.

LAH is a collective of educators, history teachers, academics, historians, educationalists, and activists. Together, we strive to develop history education in Lebanon using a disciplinary approach that caters to the needs of the country and promotes the development of the “human being” within Lebanese society.
Our mission is to contribute to the advancement of history teaching and learning in Lebanon, recognizing history as a distinct discipline and specialized field of study.

The Lebanese Association for History (LAH) is a Lebanese NGO working towards contributing to developing History Education through a disciplinary approach that fosters historical thinking, inclusiveness, multi-perspectivity and dialogue skills. LAH also aims at incorporating dealing with the past in the teaching of history to contribute to the transformation of the conflict.
LAH was established in 2013 by a group of history teachers, educational specialists, and historians who noticed a dire need to work on history education in Lebanon to overcome the history curriculum knot.

تسعى الهيئة اللبنانية للتاريخ إلى النّهوض بعمليّة تعليم وتعلّم التاريخ في لبنان باعتباره فرعاً معرفياً متخصّصاً، وإلي توعية الرأيّ العام حول أهميّة التاريخ، والحرص على أن يُصبح أكثر تقديرًا من قبل المجتمع وأكثر إشراكاً للمتعلّمين، وأكثر استخداماً للمفاهيم التاريخيّة.

كما تسعى الهيئة إلى تشجيع التعلّم المستمر للتاريخ لمختلف الفئات العمريّة لما يقوم به من دور في بناء التفكير النقدي والبحثي وبلورة الشخصيّه وتنميّة الحسّ بالمسؤوليّة الفرديّة والجماعيّة.
