LIQAA (the Jesuit Garden Neighborhood Gathering) is actively recruiting a full time coordinator to begin as soon as possible to coordinate and manage all LIQAA activities based in Geitawi neighborhood (Achrafieh).

LIQAA (the Jesuit Garden Neighborhood Gathering) is actively recruiting a team of 4 surveyors to begin data collection for a research & mapping project to begin in September for approximately 4-5 weeks.

The Jesuit Garden Neighborhood Gathering (JGNG) known as LIQAA, is a group of residents in Geitawi that are interested in improving the lives of people and businesses in the neighborhood and taking care of our public spaces. Centered around the Jesuit Public Garden, we hope the community can reconnect to nature, connect to each other and feel a sense of ownership over public spaces. Ultimately, we aim to leave a legacy for future generations.

A collective of residents living in Geitawi Achrafieh, around the Jesuit Public Garden, “Jesuit Garden Neighborhood Gathering” known as “LIKAA,” are creating sustainable community activities and ways of revitalizing their neighborhood. These projects include: monthly community meetings, markets, and activities that support physical and mental wellbeing (sports or talks), social connectivity (games, tours and workshops) and cultural activities (music, film, theater) as well as programs to maintain and improve public spaces.

We are searching for a motivated community organizer that cares deeply about improving the neighborhood, can work well with all kinds of people and groups, loves green spaces, and believes in the value of public spaces and community cohesion. This position is not only for a self-starter, but someone who feels comfortable talking to people and managing events along with a basic knowledge and willingness to learn administrative skills/ computer skills. The committee of skilled residents can provide information, training, guidance and will be overseeing all projects with the community organizer.
