During 2016-2017 two research reports done by CLDH assessed the impact of displacement on refugees and vulnerable host communities. The 1st one addressed the legal challenges encountered by Syrian refugees in Lebanon whereas the 2nd one tackled the practice of torture. In July 2019, CLDH conducted an inception report on Lebanon Torture Situation after Legislating law 65/2017 - “An inception study on the Law aiming at punishing torture”. CLDH now seeks to further investigate the recommendations made from the above-mentioned reports and engage in interviews with key governmental stakeholders.

With the direction of the Program Manager, the consultancy aims to Develop and deliver a two-day training (01/02 February 2020) to a group of 15 participants (Target group: host community, the youth generation).
The participants will be trained on the following topics: Life Skills, Leadership and Life Coaching. The participants will also have a training on labor law (given by one of our lawyers).

Since 2009 CLDH has been providing legal aid service to poor and vulnerable groups including; refugees, LGBT,
host community, Victims of torture, victims of GBV/SGBV and migrant domestic workers. Every year, CLDH
releases a report on the situation of legal aid services in Lebanon and its impact on the situation of vulnerable
inmates and other target groups. Each research addresses the legal challenges faced by vulnerable groups, and
their ability to access to justice.

Under the supervision of the Center’s director, in coordination with the detention coordinator, the other lawyers and the assistant, the lawyer consultant with CLDH can be requested to provide legal consultations at CLDH premises, defend the beneficiaries in courts, follow-up on administrative detention and other legal proceedings.

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the consultant should develop and deliver a four-days training of trainers in Arabic to a group of 15 participants already selected by CLDH. The participants will be provided with a training on torture, LGBT, Refugees (civil and political rights), labor law, and facilitation skills.

The Communication Agency will help the Communication and Advocacy Department and under the supervision of the Communication and Advocacy Officer and Executive Director, to develop a communication and media strategy of the organization. The job will be on a consultancy basis for a period of 2 months.

Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Human Resources
Consultant will assume the primary responsibility of reorganizing employment records
at CLDH as well as creating human resources policies, procedures and standards.

CLDH is organizing its second capacity building training on human rights for NGO members, law students, and Junior lawyers. From this training and the previous one conducted during the month of December 2018, CLDH will select a group of 15 participants to attend a TOT on relevant topics in order for them to raise awareness among the community. The main objective of this training is to create a group of community facilitators to raise awareness among the community on legal topics by training them on how to facilitate awareness sessions using the adequate facilitation tool

Under the broad guidance of the Program Manager, The consultancy aims to Developing and delivering a four-day training to a group of 40 participants including junior lawyers and law students. The participants will be provided with knowledge of torture, LGBT, Women’s right, Refugees (civil and political rights), Migrants + domestic workers, Stateless and nationality.

PURPOSE OF CONSULTANCY:

To develop, and produce a short video representing the current situation with regards to torture and the policy options available as part of the awareness and advocacy campaign and to be able to reach and influence policy makers and targeted population through media.
