The Gender Studies Research Specialist’s role entails strengthening research on/by women in the Arab world at national, regional and international levels in line with AIW’s Strategic Plan. This entails specific responsibility for overseeing Al-Raida Journal as well as other research initiatives.

LAU’s Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) is currently searching for a Project Assistant to provide support on its “LGBTQ Youth Platform” project.

This project is funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands for the purpose of empowering LGBTQ youth in Lebanon.

The Project Assistant will support the Project Managers and all relevant parties, including consultants and NGOs, to see the completion of the project in a timely manner.

This project is funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) for the purpose of strengthening the relationship between existing civil society organizations and elected officials to increase government accountability and impact reform on gender related issues.

This project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the purpose of supporting and promoting “issue networks” of Civil Society Organizations, around several advocacy issues such as enhancing leadership skills of women and adolescent girls through economic empowerment and capacity building.
