Project Synopsis:
Shabaket el Meem aims to provide LGBTQ youth in Lebanon and in the region with sex-positive information regarding their lives. This project is funded by the Dutch Embassy in Lebanon for the purpose of creating a virtual safe space for the LGBTQ community, providing information and support to LGBTQ youth.

LAU’s Arab Institute for Women (AIW) is looking for a Project Manager to oversee the project “Equality for Everyone: Gender Reform from Grassroots to Government.” This position is for a limited duration.

This project is funded by the U.S. Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) for the purpose of strengthening women’s economic participation and pushing for gender reform in Lebanon.

LAU’s AiW is currently looking for several researchers to create the content that will be used for the podcasts and the animations, as part of its upcoming LGBTQ Youth Platform. We are looking for one or more individuals familiar with LGBTQ issues in Lebanon. Research topics include, but are not limited to, the legal history of LGBTQ laws, the impact of LGBTQ individuals on local culture, the history of local LGBTQ activism, the evolution of language and LGBTQ terminology, the history of local trans* identity, the intersectionality of LGBTQ issues, among others.
