Background
The Makani Center Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing coordination, strengthening reporting mechanisms, and supporting the implementation of quality programming across 10 Makani centers. This role focuses on ensuring effective delivery of services to vulnerable children and youth in Palestinian camps and gatherings, in alignment with the broader goals of the Makani program and its implementing partners.

Position Summary
The Coordinator will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of activities within the Makani center in Rashidieh Camp. They will lead coordination efforts, ensure operational efficiency, and foster meaningful community engagement. The role also involves managing center staff, supporting capacity-building initiatives, and ensuring adherence to program standards and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination and Oversight
- Coordinate and supervise all Makani activities within the center, including Early Childhood Education (ECE), Retention Support (RS), Child Protection (CP), and Youth components.
- Develop and regularly update a detailed weekly/monthly activity plan in collaboration with supervisors and facilitators.
- Support outreach efforts by working with volunteers and community stakeholders to identify vulnerable children and promote Makani services.

Operations and Logistics
- Consolidate and communicate the logistical needs of the center (equipment, materials, supplies).
- Manage procurement requests, follow stock levels, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Organize regular team meetings to ensure alignment with the program’s objectives and timely implementation.

Capacity Building and Staff Support
- Supervise and support Makani center staff including teachers, facilitators, and volunteers.
- Identify training needs with activity supervisors and ensure mandatory training (e.g., Child Protection) is completed.
- Ensure work plans and benchmarks are developed and followed with clear evaluation mechanisms.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Collaborate with the M&E officer and data focal point to ensure accurate, timely data collection and quality reporting.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports on activity progress, challenges, and impact.

Community Engagement and External Relations
- Develop strategies to increase community participation and awareness of center activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with UNRWA schools, local stakeholders, and community leaders.
- Represent the organization in relevant coordination meetings and events.

Compliance and Other Duties
- Ensure all activities adhere to organizational policies and donor guidelines.
- Undertake any additional tasks requested by the management team that align with the scope of the position.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Education, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community-based programming, with preferred experience in supervising centers within Palestinian camps.
- Proven experience working with children and youth in vulnerable settings, especially within refugee communities.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills in Arabic; good command of English (spoken and written) is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.

Evaluation Criteria for Shortlisting
- Relevance of academic qualifications (Bachelor’s in a related field).
- Years and relevance of professional experience, especially within Palestinian camp settings.
- Demonstrated coordination, supervision, and community engagement skills.
- Familiarity with child protection and education programming.
- Language proficiency (Arabic required, English preferred).
- Experience with reporting, data collection, and donor compliance.
