CONSULTANT TO DEVELOP A LEGAL BOOKLET ON MEDIATION
Justice without Frontiers (JWF), a dynamic active local non-governmental juristic organization founded in Beirut in 2005, is deeply committed to championing human rights, justice, democracy, peace, and the rule of law. Over the last decade, JWF's impactful work has addressed crucial initiatives, from addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (S/GBV) to empowering women's access to justice, advocating for marginalized individuals, combating human trafficking, and more.
- Brief Information about the Project
Empowering women and strengthening the resilience of vulnerable rural and urban communities in South Lebanon and Beirut is a three-year program implemented by a consortium of 3 NGOs, Justice without Frontiers, SHEILD, and JAFRA, led by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and funded by the German Feder Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This program aims to strengthen women's livelihoods and increase the resilience of vulnerable communities engaged in smallholder and subsistence agriculture. Justice without Frontiers’ role in this program is to ensure that gender equality is mainstreamed into all project activities, provide tailored training for women in leadership skills and business development, provide legal support, and conduct gender analysis.
- Request:
We are seeking a qualified consultant to develop a legal booklet on mediation. The legal booklet should be practical, informative, and legally accurate while ensuring the content is engaging for non-legal audiences.
- Scope of work and deliverables
The consultant is expected to provide the following deliverables:
- Research the legal and practical aspects of mediation
- Address relevant laws and regulations that govern mediation, such as local laws, international conventions, and professional standards.
- Write the content in clear, concise, and legally accurate language that is accessible to both legal professionals and the general public including the following key topics: define mediation, type of mediation, benefits of mediation, examples and case studies…
- Ensuring the content is easily understood by non-experts.
- The language of the legal booklets should be in Arabic
- Submit the first draft of the booklet to the JWF team for review and feedback.
- Incorporate any comments or suggestions received and revise the document as needed to ensure that it aligns with the goals of the project
- Provide a finalized version of the booklet. The booklet should be in a digital format (e.g., PDf) (25-30 pages)
- Skills and Experience required:
The consultant must meet the following qualifications:
- A law degree (or equivalent) is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of mediation, with a strong understanding of both the theory and practice of mediation.
- Experience in drafting legal materials, educational content, or booklets, particularly related to mediation.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to explain legal ideas.
- Experience in designing user-friendly legal booklets for non-legal audiences.
- Knowledge of Lebanese laws related to human rights.
