The Project MEAL Officer will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinators and the Program MEAL officer, in close collaboration with other relevant colleagues from support and other sectors. The MEAL Officer will be based in Beirut with regular field visits to the projects’sites.
Main Responsibilities:
- Participate in the regular meetings for project coordination
- Develop and implement MEAL plans in line with project objectives.
- Support the design and application of data collection tools (e.g., surveys, focus groups, interviews).
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Collect, validate, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess project performance.
- Maintain and update project databases and dashboards.
- Facilitate regular learning sessions and workshops to reflect on project successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Support the development of case studies, success stories, and best practice reports.
- Promote adaptive management by ensuring lessons learned inform future programming.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports on project outcomes, achievements, and challenges.
- Work closely with program staff to ensure MEAL processes are integrated into project activities.
- Build the capacity of staff and partners on MEAL tools, techniques, and processes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field teams on MEAL-related tasks.
- Ensure timely implementation of outcome monitoring activities, including satisfaction surveys, baseline and end-line assessments, to track project progress and impact effectively.

- Experience with MEAL tools and methodologies
- Excellent technical understanding of contemporary MEAL methods and practices, with hands-on experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with data collection and analysis software (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, SPSS)
- Comprehensive knowledge of humanitarian accountability principles and their translation into practice
