WASH Project Manager - North and Akkar

The Project Manager's responsibilities encompass project and operational management, financial oversight, and communication. Based in Tripoli, the role involves frequent travel to the field areas of North and Akkar. Reporting to the Head of Mission/Head of Programme, the Project Manager supervises the project team and technical teams within partner organizations.Specifically, the Project Manager is accountable for overseeing all WASH-related activities conducted in North and Akkar.

Your responsibilities:

Plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate WASH project activities in accordance with donor requirements and arche noVa policies
Develop implementation plans for all WASH project components in collaboration with arche noVa HoP/HoM and implementing partners.
Organize and conduct MEAL surveys and studies in coordination with the MEAL team.
Provide technical support and conduct assessments of technical partners involved in the WASH component.
Offer on-the-job coaching and capacity building for WASH component implementing partners, alongside arche noVa HoP.
Conduct regular field visits and visits to implementing partners for technical monitoring and refinement of WASH activities.
Ensure efficient and impact-oriented implementation of WASH activities, including budget control, spending, and reporting, in coordination with the Admin/Finance Manager.
Prepare budget forecasts and make revisions as necessary, in collaboration with the Admin/Finance Manager.
Supervise and monitor compliance with donor and organizational procurement regulations for all procurement processes within the WASH project component, with support from the Logistician and Admin/Finance Manager.
Continuously monitor and evaluate activities, schedules, structures, and processes alongside the MEAL team.
Providing accurate and timely project-related reports in accordance with the donor requirement and or formats
Collaborating with the arche noVa Senior management team and MEAL team to further improve indicators, conduct regular assessments to keep activities adjusted to needs and make relevant material available for the visibility of the project and the organization
Communicating and networking with project stakeholders, such as representatives from target municipalities, communities, business associations, local and international NGOs, UN agencies and relevant Ministries and partners together with the Head of Mission and head of Programme of arche noVa
Participating in working groups and clusters representing arche noVa together with Head of Mission and head of Programme
Participating in organizational development as well as contributing to the arche noVa’s country and regional strategy.
Act as a primary country focal point for a global environmental project with the following main tasks:
Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for all project-related matters within the designated country, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among consortium partners.
Provide support to the Food Security and Livelihoods Project Manager of arche noVa and other partners in coordinating activities with relevant government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders.
Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, local authorities, and community leaders, to facilitate the smooth implementation of project activities.
Ensure good communication flow between the consortium partners
Organize and participate in regular coordination meetings with consortium partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and addressing any emerging challenges.
Facilitate regular and structured meetings, workshops and consultations with partners to gather valuable feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Collaborate with local partners to identify opportunities for synergies and joint initiatives that enhance the overall impact and sustainability of the project.
Ensure the accurate and punctual submission of monthly reports for all partners.
Oversee the preparation and timely submission of donor reports.
Ensure that project reporting aligns with global and national indicators and frameworks relevant to the project's thematic areas.

The WASH PM is also responsible for executing any additional tasks assigned by the HoP and HoM

Your competencies:

Relevant degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering etc.
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar position in the WASH sector
Experience in the NGO sector is an asset
Strong leadership and team management skills; pragmatic and hands-on experience in the humanitarian project practice
Sound knowledge of the humanitarian principles and local and international standards for WASH projects
Professional experiences in the Lebanon (advantage North and Akkar region), working in insecure / volatile environments
Experience of training design, training delivery and facilitation in topics relevant to the position;
Experience of field-based mentoring and building the capacity of communities and partners is highly desirable
Experiences with German donors (BMZ) or international one i.e EU or UN donors
Excellent communication and networking capacities, including capacities to communicate technical content to varied audiences, including people with limited literacy
Ability to treat individuals with fairness and respect, demonstrating sensitivity for ethnic, cultural and gender differences;
Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point
Fluency in Arabic and English (written & oral)
Sound report writing skills
Motivated, proactive team member with high frustration tolerance and pro-active working attitude
Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to take on tasks and apply new methodologies in community settings
Willingness to travel frequently to field locations and a valid driving license.
Flexibility, ability to work under stress and capacity to meet tight deadlines
Experiences in proposal writing is advantage

Other:

Ensure all activities are gender sensitive and follow arche noVa Equity Policy;
Apply Do No Harm standards to ensure activities do not have detrimental effects on vulnerable communities;
Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to arche noVa and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission in Lebanon;
