Background:
The Child Protection program has the aim of providing psychosocial support for children and their caregivers to enable them improving resilience and promoting positive coping mechanisms, facing hard situations and stressful events and incidents. It ensures that vulnerable people are supported and empowered in order to keep them safe. The Field Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator with necessary liaison with the Child Protection Officer and the Projects Coordinator on the required and assigned tasks. S/he will provide technical assistance to the field team and strategic oversight, data managing and reporting on the implementation of the activities.
The Field Coordinator will be based in Amel HQ as part of the Child protection team with frequent site visits.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follow-up on the implementation of activities and track progress of the project in the assigned shelters.
• Support the social workers on the organization of activities for the targeted population according to the work plan.
• Ensure that the team is fully capacitated and delivers sessions of positive parenting, PSS and awareness sessions.
• Support the implementation of the project and oversee all necessary logistics, workshops, trainings, events, etc.
• Identify the team needs in terms of capacity sharing and work on implementing trainings in coordination with the Program Coordinator.
• Conduct regular field visits to the shelters and manage project operations within these shelters.
• Support in quarterly FGDs in shelters among different people of concern.
• Support and advise the staff in their preparation and submission of their weekly and monthly reports.
• Contribute to the project’s quarterly and annual reports.
• Monitor the implementation and progress in the field and ensure that activities implemented are in line with approved plans and agreed indicators.
• Report to the Program Coordinators any challenges in the implementation of the activities.
• Collect data, compile and update information in the field.
• Prepare routine progress reports as requested/ needed.
• Inform and update teams on any reporting related topic.
• Lead or co-lead weekly meetings to ensure all team members are on time with their tasks and receive the support needed to complete them.
Other duties:
• Act as focal point for partners and all partner NGOs, as well as other relevant stakeholders and municipalities.
• Coordinate meetings with different stakeholders (communities’ representatives, NGOs, representatives and any other relevant stakeholders).
• Mobilize community support and participation in the various community-based activities.
• Verify the implementation of the data protection and information sharing policy, relevant to the local context and according to the security situation.
• Ensure that all interventions are in compliance with CP strategy, international CP standards and national policies.
• Ensure active participation in the Working Groups.
• Maintain flexibility to apply and undertake any other task related the project, and required by the program coordinator.
Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:
• 3 years’ experience as front-line worker, preferably social worker / case worker in Child Protection (required).
• Master or Bachelor degree in Business Management , social work, or any related major.
• At least 2 years’ experience in team management, excellent team spirit (required).
• Excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.
• Notable knowledge of actors involved in the targeted areas.
• Excellent in Arabic and English (spoken, written, read)
• Good knowledge of project management
• Knowledge of procurement and logistics
• Strong organizational skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work in dynamic and sometimes challenging field conditions;
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
