Consultant for Social Stability

Brief description of the project: 

Amel is committed to fostering social stability through targeted community-based initiatives in Bekaa, South, and BML. As part of this ongoing efforts, Amel seeks to engage a Social Stability Consultant to enhance the capacity of Amel and local NGOs staff, develop effective tools and mechanisms, and oversee the monitoring and evaluation of activities at promoting social stability.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

● Target organizational development needs by training and capacitating staff members on social stability and conflict sensitivity (develop and deliver a comprehensive and concise TOT program for staff while providing guidance and support during the project period;
● Design and draft tools and mechanisms necessary for implementing social stability activities;
● Ensure these tools are user-friendly and effective in achieving the desired outcomes and goals;
● Develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for social stability activities;
● Coach and support in planning of community-based initiatives and events aiming at enhancing Social Stability and conflict sensitivity;
● Support the team with local communities and stakeholders meetings, when needed, to ensure events are relevant and impactful;
● Coordinate with Amel team, including M&E officer, social workers, field coordinator, project coordinator, and staff across various sectors within the organization;
● Provide the team with a conflict resolution and do no harm training, de-escalation training;
● Providing a monthly report of gaps and mitigation plan.

Perform other duties as required:  
● Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager;
● All information, documents, and materials related to this consultancy should remain confidential and not be disclosed without prior written consent from Amel;
● Respect and Abide to the organization internal code of conduct, CP policy, CP behavioral policy and the PSEA policy;
● Coordinate with Amel staff in other programs;
● Ensure compliance with the intellectual property guidelines of Amel;
● Understand the cultural sensitivity of each of the implementation areas (BML, South, and Bekaa);
● Other duties as Assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 

● One References from UNDP is a plus. 
● Minimum five years of experience in social stability and conflict sensitivity training and initiatives;
● Proven experience in training, monitoring, and evaluation;
● Strong analytical and communication skills;
● Experience in planning and implementing community-based events;
● Relevant academic qualifications in social sciences, development studies, or a related field;
● Provide certification proof;
● Previous experience in working with NGOs and INGOs;

The Time Frame: 

The period of consultancy agreement is anticipated to commence as soon as possible and extend until the project's completion on 31st January 2026

Location: Based in Beirut, with field visits to Bekaa, Baalback and South
