Nutrition Specialist
Position Overview:
The Nutrition Specialist will facilitate 16 sessions targeting representatives of households participating in the cash-for-activities program. The sessions will provide practical strategies to maximize food security using cash assistance, focusing on promoting dietary diversity and optimizing the use of cash assistance for nutritional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive training curriculum that provides practical guidance on how to strategically utilize cash assistance to purchase a wider range of nutritious foods, enhancing the overall quality of the diet.
- Prepare training materials, including manuals, handouts, and visual aids.
- Conduct 16 training sessions focusing on practical strategies for maximizing food security.
- Engage participants through discussion, hands-on activities, and practical demonstrations.
- Use culturally appropriate and accessible communication methods to ensure all participants can apply the knowledge in their daily lives.
- Collect feedback from participants and provide recommendations for program improvements.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports detailing session outcomes, participant feedback, and any observed challenges, along with recommendations for future sessions.
- Collaborate with PARD staff to identify community needs and tailor training topics accordingly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field
- Proven experience in nutrition education, food security, and community engagement.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Experience in designing and delivering workshops
- Excellent command of written Arabic and English.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to the needs of the target audience.
