CESVI has a zero-tolerance approach to any harm to, or exploitation of, a child or a vulnerable adult by any of our staff, related persons or partners. CESVI commitment to being a safe organization begins with the staff recruitment process which includes meticulous checks, such as criminal records checks or check disclosure of previous convictions, to ensure children and vulnerable people are safeguarded and abuse is prevented. Safeguarding checks are part of the selection process performance. 

CESVI has been active in Lebanon since 2001 in different areas: Bekaa, North, South, Nabatiyeh, Mount Lebanon and Beirut. CESVI is currently implementing a project funded by the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS) that aims at will contribute to ensuring the right to education and protection of children with and without disabilities and their families in Bourj Hammoud and Baalbek, by improving equal access to and participation in educational, protection and health pathways, in cooperation with institutions and civil society. CESVI is also working on PROMOSSO funded program that aims at contributing to reducing the negative impact on health and environment produced by pollution and contamination of air, soil, and water in Lebanon by developing models of environmental and social responsibility for MSMEs in Nabatye, Hasbaya, Saida and Tyre. This will be done by responding to limited and polluting production systems, characterized by a scarcity of sustainable investments, as well as lack of financial resources and awareness.

CESVI is looking for data collectors to be responsible of conducting surveys on the field and over the phone in the framework of the above-mentioned interventions and needs assessment aimed at informing proposals writing covering different regions of the country.

The data collectors will work under the supervision of the MEAL Coordinator and of the Project Manager.  In the framework of the project funded by the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS), they will:

•     Support in the conduction of Focus Group Discussions with project beneficiaries and key informants in the above-mentioned areas.
•     Work on the field through door-to-door data collection in BML, Baalbeck and South (Saida district) and, by collecting data through phone interviews.
•     Report any incidents and challenges encountered to improve the quality of operations or approaches used.
•     Report ant feedback and complaint received through the proper channels,

In the framework of the needs assessments that will be launched with the purpose of informing proposal writing, data collectors are expected to work in the following governorate, therefore people residing in the mentioned areas are going to be prioritized in the selection process: BML, South (Saida district) and Baalbek/Hermel conducting qualitative and quantitative surveys, Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions.  Data collectors will work under the supervision of the MEAL Coordinator and the Program Managers. The intervention areas and governorates might change according to the project needs.

Essential requirements

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES:

• Applicants must have a good knowledge of or familiarity with data collection tools, including: Kobo/ODK/ONA/survey123 or other relevant tools.
• Applicants must have a good experience in conducting surveys using quantitative and qualitative questionnaires such as key informants’ interviews, Pre-tests, Post-tests, Post-Distribution Monitoring questionnaires and Focus Group Discussions.
• Applicants must be skilled in the use of Spreadsheets, Word processing, calendar, e-mail.
• Applicants should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to establish positive relationships with people at all levels; to show sensitivity and integrity.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience working in a humanitarian organization or in data collection is preferable.

SKILLS:

• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Organizational Skills: Be able to develop and respect work plans, to manage time effectively, to meet deadlines and plan field visits.
• Active Listening Skills: be able to listen carefully and make informed decisions, without giving false expectations.
• Social consciousness: be socially aware of the socio-economic situation of their area and how it can affect their work.
• Interpersonal Skills: be able to build positive relationships with potential participants and build trust.
• Written and Verbal Communication Skills: be able to clearly articulate information.
• Be honest, trustworthy, and respectful.
• Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity to needs of vulnerable populations and all nationalities.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently, to follow instructions and to adapt to field setting.

Desirable requirements

   Living in the areas of Saida and Baalbek/Hermel is considered a strong asset.
