About Rahma for Special Needs (RSN)

Our goals and all operational pathways are to increase the empowerment, productivity, and effectiveness of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in more equitable systems in our society.

All programs are built on and inspired by our strategic plan, which envisions leading special education and rehabilitation to integrate children and make a difference. RSN is committed to promoting the achievement of children with disabilities through services, activities, and social engagement. We monitor and measure our progress through specific KPIs in each department on a monthly and annual basis, and we expect that over time our strategic goals and objectives will be achieved with quality.

RSN has zero tolerance for Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries. Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility, and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, which enshrines principles of PSEA at all times (both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with and adherence to the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement for all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Training and Development:

Train and mentor special educators on best practices and innovative strategies for teaching individuals with special needs.

Organize and conduct professional development workshops and training sessions.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the educational needs of individuals with special needs.

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with special educators, parents, and other stakeholders.

Monitor and evaluate the progress of students, adjusting IEPs as necessary.

Curriculum Development:

Prepare and update curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of individuals with special needs.

Ensure the curriculum aligns with current educational standards and best practices in special education.

Incorporate adaptive and assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with healthcare professionals, therapists, and administrative staff to coordinate comprehensive care and education plans.

Collaborate with the rehabilitation team, including psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychomotor therapists, and social workers, for evaluation committees and student sessions.

Engage with parents and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to each individual's education and development.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards for special education.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assessments, IEPs, and curriculum development.

Prepare and submit reports as required by the institute's administration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Proven experience in special education, including training educators, conducting assessments, and developing IEPs.

Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Proficiency in adaptive and assistive technologies used in special education.
